Site Prep

Setting the foundation for a thriving ecosystem. Getting your planting area set up for long-term success is about more than just clearing space. We analyze your soil, light, drainage, and more to prepare a site for ecologically valuable plant populations. By focusing on proper preparation first, we prevent headaches later.

Invasive Species Removal

Reclaiming your land from the "bullies." Japanese Honeysuckle? Multiflora Rose? There is often no substitute for rolling up your sleeves and excavating a stubborn root system. As a very last resort, we are licensed and ready to apply herbicide using surgical, targeted methods***. We do everything we can to ensure that once the invasive plants are gone, they stay gone.

Planting and Design

Right plant, right place. We don’t just put plants in the ground; we design functional plant communities. By selecting native species that naturally thrive in your specific conditions, we can reduce maintenance while providing essential habitat for local pollinators, birds and other wildlife.

Maintenance

Phasing out the chores. One goal of an ecological landscape is to reduce maintenance to the absolute minimum. By establishing dense, native plant communities that naturally outcompete weeds and stabilize the soil, we move your property away from constant mowing, watering and heavy weeding. As the landscape matures, it begins to function as a self-sustaining ecosystem—shifting the workload from labor-intensive upkeep to simple, occasional tasks.

***We do not broadcast spray large areas, but instead utilize targeted techniques such as cut-stump treatment or basal bark application. These surgical methods ensure that the herbicide is applied only to the invasive plant’s vascular system, preventing runoff and protecting the surrounding native flora. We do not use concentrated, soil actice, or highly volatile chemicals. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
